Betty’s Notebook (2025)

A teenage girl, Betty Klenck, hears something strange on her radio. What she believes is the final transmission of Amelia Earhart turns out to maybe be true. She writes it all down. Decades later, her notebook becomes the starting point for this immersive performance.

As if inside the radio itself, performances were transported into a world where they could hear where the pivotal transmission happened. Audiences walked through four rooms, learning about Betty Klenck’s life, Amelia Earhart’s flight trajectory, and hearing the final radio broadcast of Amelia Earhart, as if they were in Betty’s shoes.

Betty’s Notebook was a performulation - both performance and installation. Audiences could choose whether they would attend a timed entry or participate in a performance.
